2016: TUITION TALKS

Produced by WPIRG student members, this video series spotlights UWaterloo students impacted by the administration’s sudden and extreme international tuition increases in 2016.

Fight for Lower International Tuition at the University of Waterloo (FLIT-UW) was organized by Waterloo Public Interest Research Group (WPIRG) and UW Chinese Literature Connection (UWCLC) between 2015 and 2016. FLIT was founded in response to the Board of Governors proposal of a 9.2% tuition hike in 2015, when the UW Chinese Literature Connection (UWCLC) successfully organized a visit to the April 2015 Board of Governors meeting. WPIRG supported FLIT by launching a video series interviewing affected students by the consequent hike in 2016, in addition to supporting protest actions.
